Amid Fraud Claims, Ogun NCSU Chairman Reportedly Sneaks Back Into Country

The crisis rocking the Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU) has taken a new turn as its embattled chairman, Comrade Ismail Oladipupo Sanyaolu, resurfaced in the state after reports had earlier suggested he fled the country to avoid probes into his financial dealings.

Sanyaolu is facing a series of weighty allegations, including embezzlement, diversion of union funds, unauthorized bank loans, and attempts to secure a N500 million facility with workers’ retirement savings as collateral moves union members described as reckless and done without due approval.

It would be recalled that the Chairman was alleged to leave the country amidst ongoing allegations of financial and fraudulent activities linked to him.

However, in a video recordings sighted by our reporter, Comrade Sanyaolu however refuted claims that he left the country on the heels of allegations against him, saying that he only went on his annual leave, howbeit not out of the country.

“I was not out of the country. I only went for my annual leave, and I am back. For those saying I have ‘japa’, I have run away from the country, I only went for my 2025 annual leave, which I took approval from my agency.

“So, I am here now. In fact, I still have like 2 weeks to the expiration of my leave. So, I am here live and direct. I just went out of Abeokuta, not that I was out of the country, “he added

Investigation, however, revealed that the Chairman was sighted in the United Kingdom in the company of close associates, which further lay credence to his whereabout.

Sources within the Union said several petitions have been submitted to different quarters for proper investigation into the matter, including the National Secretariat of the Union.

“We are part and percel of the Union, and we can confirm to you that several petitions have been sent to different quarters for them to look into those allegations. While we await the outcome of these investigations, we are, however, wary of silence from these quarters, including those who alleged, “the source said.

“Since his reported return, he has been gallivanting around the town claiming that he knows the high and mighty politicians in the State, hence he sees himself as invincible as the case may be, a statement which makes a mockery of justice in the Civil Service of Ogun State.

“We, as concerned members of the Union and stakeholders of this Retirement Savings Scheme, however want the Head of Service of Ogun State, the Ogun State Civil Service Commission and the National Secretariat of our Union not to allow this impunity to slide without proper justice to all the aforementioned allegations against Comrade Ismail Oladipupo Sanyaolu”, the source said.
